Scott D. Ungemach DC, MUAC
Chiropractor

Dr. Scott D. Ungemach was born and raised in Berwick, Pa. He is an honor’s graduate of Bloomsburg University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life University School of Chiropractic in Atlanta Ga.  With 20 years of experience, he has treated patients of all ages, from professional athletes in Philly to weekend worriers with spinal or extremity problems, to patients simply needing high-quality chiropractic care.  Dr. Scott takes a whole body approach to your health and uses multiple chiropractic techniques, from gentle and non-forceful to more traditional manipulative treatments, as well as advanced extremity techniques, depending on each patient's unique needs.

Dr. Scott has taken over 400 hours of continuing  education in Laser therapy,  Computer Aided Adjusting Techniques, Advanced Functional Extremity Techniques, Diagnosing/Differentiating/Treating Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Passive Care Modalities Traction, Muscle Stim, and Ultrasound, Sports Injury - Treatment and Prevention, Ergonomics in the Workplace, Spinal Pain Syndromes, Whiplash/Spinal Trauma, Advanced Radiological (X-ray, CT, MRI) Reading and Interpretation, Posture, Gait, and Sensory-Motor Training, Trigger Point Therapy, MUA, and Soft Tissue Techniques to name a few.

He is the first doctor in our area to be certified to use the SIGMA Pro-Adjuster 360, the most advanced computer-aided analysis and adjusting tool in chiropractic today. This amazing technology allows you to receive the chiropractic care you need without being twisted, popped, or cracked. It can also be used on extremities and soft tissues conditions. He is the only one in Northeast PA to be certified in MMT (Mechanical Motion Therapy), Mechanical Motion Therapy can have a powerful, pain relieving effect on the tissues containing the specialized receptors, even in instances where it has been present for years  He is a certified (Class IV) Summus Medical-laser provider and is also one of only a handful of chiropractors in NEPA certified in (MUA) Manipulation Under Anesthesia.

'I take pride in the fact that I know what I can and can not treat with physical medicine, and more importantly, that I know when I need to refer out. I believe that to arrive at the best treatment solutions for our patients, physicians must have a strong understanding of all the options available and a willingness to utilize them.'

From the urgent, to often complex needs of serious auto accidents, personal/athletic injuries, too repetitive motion injuries and/or general muscle imbalances, he provides his patients with the most effective solutions to reduce their pain and restore function. As a result, he often integrates services directed by other specialists in related fields such as physical therapists, pain management, and surgeons to create a customized treatment plan that works best for each patient's unique needs. 'If I can’t help you, I will do my best to find someone who can.'

When not in the office, Dr. Scott enjoys snowboarding, fishing, golf, and any type of competitive shooting. But most of all, he enjoys spending his time off with his wife Tracey, and their son Ethan.
